About Emma
I grew up in a totally non-religious household and became a member of the Association many many years ago through my mother, Ellen Sides, who was one of the very first Humanist celebrants here in Ireland. I myself became a celebrant in 2007 because I always thought it sounded like a wonderful job and I absolutely love marrying people – helping couples to have a personal and meaningful wedding ceremony; one that is honest, down-to-earth, and straight from the heart. I feel that my role is to help you put your ceremony together, as well as stage manage the practical details on the day; I believe this is very important in terms of giving a dignified and serious air to the proceedings. There is always room though for lots of laughter! I pride myself on taking a very professional approach and providing a relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere for both you, and your families and friends. I also do welcoming ceremonies for your new baby – a lovely way to celebrate the arrival of a little one. I have a basic proficiency in German and am happy to do part of your ceremony auf Deutsch.
